Ruth Blake, LMSW, PMH-C
Ruth is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Her post-secondary education began at Central Michigan University where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology & Family Studies, later followed by a Master’s of Social Work with a concentration in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Wayne State University.
Ruth has experience in Child Welfare, as well as Community Mental Health. Her compassion and empathy for working with parents and adults has deepened tremendously as she embarked on being a mother to two handsome and energetic sons.
Ruth provides ,not only compassion, but empathy and care when working with others. This connection allows for Ruth to continue to grow and gain knowledge in relation to Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Grief/Loss, Stress, and Self-esteem; by establishing rapport and trust to identify coping skills that will ignite change within an individual.
Ruth meets individual(s) where they are at and has the experience needed to provide a variety of treatment modalities to ensure the best practices to each and every adult based on needs.
Ruth has worked with a variety of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Strength-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Family Systems, and Person-Centered Therapy.
Ruth’s goals as a therapist with Nature’s Playhouse is to listen to the individual courageously share their story and empower them with the essential tools to overcome and embrace major challenges in their life.
