Born and raised in the heart of the Motor City, Micia's roots run deep in a community she holds dear to her heart. Her love for Detroit infuses every aspect of her life, shaping her identity and fueling her commitment to making a positive impact on the city and its residents.

Born and raised with an unwavering commitment to service, Micia pursued her passion for public health and nutrition, earning a Master's degree in the field. Armed with knowledge and compassion, she embarked on a decade-long journey with the Detroit Health Department WIC agency, where she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of the challenges facing mothers in underserved communities.

Throughout her tenure, Micia witnessed firsthand the profound impact of breastfeeding support on maternal and infant health outcomes. Driven by a desire to effect lasting change, she became a certified doula and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), empowering countless mothers to embrace the transformative power of breastfeeding.
